As you may have heard, we have recently finished editing a new book on educational TA. With contributions from more than 20 educational TA trainers and practitioners worldwide this offers an eclectic and coherent overview of the educational field. We consider each of the main arenas in which educational TA takes place; pre-school, school and college classrooms and staffrooms, professional and personal development, community education. We include a section on educational TA philosophy and principles, along with a retrospective on its development as a specialist field of application.

We hope this book will be a 'home-base' for educational trainees, adding to the literature which they can use when developing their practice and preparing for examination. Although there is a stack of valuable material on the theme of educational TA, there has so far been no definitive guide to this field. Many people outside the TA training world also use transactional analysis concepts in their educational work, and this book should become a reference point for greater familiarity with current writing.

It can be challenging to define ourselves when we don't have the range of language, concepts or a framework within which to contextualize our practice. Here, we bring together a wide range of theory, case-study material and discussion to fuel future developments in the field.
